as for the painted neck debate, i am fine with it just as long as it isnt glossy and sticky. if it is smooth and allows for easier playing then it is good for me... now if it is glossy and sticky i have to take a buffing block to them to smooth them out, but if i can get an unfinished lightly oiled neck then that is for the better
Solar Guitars are all set-through necks, I think. Those are halfway between a classic set neck and a neck-through. I actually really dig that whole construction method. Thanks for the fun hour.

Dude, you shouldn't worry about catching negativity, and there's nothing you said that's a problem or controversial. There's nothing wrong with progressing at your own pace. There's nothing wrong with wanting to collect nice things. The only thing that matters is if what you are doing is making you happy without hurting other people. Go get it champ 💪
Remove the 2 screws that secure the lockdowns, spread the crack open & get as muck titebond work glue as possible & clean up the excess glue with a wet rag then clamp the guitar. I would glue that neck asap. Nice collection!
The necks are probably painted on that HB and S because they used probably paint-grade maple which includes some heartwood, which gives you some darker streaks and is a quite a bit less expensive than nice clear maple, because a lot of people don't like it. Replacing it with roasted nice maple could bump the price by 50% on those S by Solar guitars.
To tell the difference between set neck and neck through. Set neck simply looks like a bolt on without the bolts and plates and will be painted. A neck theough the neck goes through the whole body and the neck will be carved/sanded into the body seamlessly

You've got a pretty badass collection. Definitely a fan of the Jacksons and the Solars and of course, gotta give the homie Royce props. I love my Reaper and i need to get one of the tuners fixed on it. It suffered a bit of a fall and the locking mechanism on the low E snapped off. Still sounds and plays great. But, yeah, I still pull out the Deviant and make evil chugs with it pretty regularly

I had an 89 S Custom, all of those switch toppers fall off.... I had a Korean LTD Green figured Maple Top MH301, Ben Weinman had a red one, we both kinda evolved at the same time. Add a Sustainiac and I am all in on the Grimoire, I love my Kelly KEXQ and Schecter E1 Special Edition so anything Z shaped or offset is my thing

pertaining to you're firefly and repair in general, (former hoshino guitar QC, and repair room tech), it's tempting to use super glue, or a form of it, don't it's too brittle, wherever it broke is likely a weak spot in the wood and will be prone to breaking there, use epoxy , slower is better, ,,,CA glues are great for plastic

I'm a bass player so I may be wrong, but I believe I heard those brass blocks are actually kinda inexpensive. Unless the floyd one is specific or something. It'll for sure work for the Fender shaped stuff tho
That progressive series reminds me of korns 7 string ibanez guitars it would be cool to have the option to install the bar that came with them on other bridges also you may be able to convert the jim root tele into a baritone through warmoth
U need a strandberg headless. I used to think they were kinda ugly, but after playing a strandberg, i havent picked up any other guitars, and ive been playing 6+ hours a day cause of how comfortable it is. Get one, is the best advice i can give

Hey man.. you gotta put that Deviant in production, now is the right time, you got the 3D model or the STEP file for this guitar, well I guess it will have to be a limited run to begin with because you can't just contact a well known factory and say: Hey.. lets make this guitar. So a smaller luthier with a CNC would probably be the way to go. I know people will buy that guitar, put up a homepage and do some marketing and it will sell out instantly. There is two ways to go, either cheap cheap with cheap hardware and everything or.. midrange around 1200 bucks with Floyd Rose 1000 series tremolo and some EMG´s in there and Gotoh Locking tuners (for simplicity when swapping strings). Just one or two finishes nothing to crazy, just one type of wood in both the neck and body, keep things simple but yet awesome. Come on now.. you can do it. Let´s make 5 pieces to start with and then 5 more and then maybe a batch of 10, that's 20 and a good limited edition. Thanks for the video.

Incorrect. I actually have a neck through with a Floyd 1000. Most of the non bolt-on ones are set -thru, but not ALL of them

EMG 81 85 Combo have been a thing since 1981-82 I had several guitar's with that combo.

The 7321 is my main guitar. It punches so wholeheartedly above its weight that it's kind of criminal.

The original bridge on those fenders is DEF a pain to play! The screws are way too long and stab your palm!
